Teaching, research and student achievement from a young, fast-growing department where biology and chemistry meet.
The Department of Biochemistry was established in Fall 2021 at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology. Biochemistry combines biology and chemistry to study living matter, powering scientific and medical discovery.
A balanced foundation in the discipline before students move into specialised areas of interest.
Graduate study with an emphasis on research, practical skills and contemporary biochemical applications.
An approved agenda is in place to launch a PhD program in the near future.
To boldly explore new biochemical frontiers in the life sciences, medicine, energy, materials and environmental sciences through visionary research, innovation, collaboration and scholarship.
To provide distinctive and relevant education in the biochemical & health sciences at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
To carry out world-class research and scholarly work with relevance to contemporary problems facing society and industry.
Five faculty members bringing expertise from clinical biochemistry to nanobiomaterials.
Biomaterials, surface impregnation, water remediation, environmental toxicology, antimicrobial agents.
Clinical biochemistry, nanobiomaterial synthesis, environmental toxicology, phytochemical analysis, antibiogram designing.
Plant biochemistry, metabolites, clinical biochemistry.
Nanobiomaterials, wastewater treatment, clinical biochemistry.
Peptide synthesis, cardiovascular disease, antidiabetics, molecular biology.
