The Department of Biochemistry was established in Fall 2021 at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology. Biochemistry combines biology and chemistry to study living matter, powering scientific and medical discovery.

Research project submitted to the HED KPK Research Endowment Fund; another project submitted to PSF's 7th Call for Nanomaterials and the PERIDOT Program.
Intra-Departmental Model Competition held for BS-VII Biochemistry, 2024.
Co-organised the 4th International Conference on “Antimicrobial Resistance & Alternatives to Antibiotics,” 29–30 October 2024, including a student poster competition.
Successful research collaboration established with the Kidney Centre Abbottabad and Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi.
From competitions and conferences to sustainability outreach, students and faculty remained active across AUST and beyond.
BS Biochemistry student Komal Arshad served on the organising committee for the 2024–2025 OnCampus Program.
Biochemistry students completed a tree plantation campaign with enthusiasm and commitment to environmental preservation.
Students actively participated in competitions at the three-day research-based sustainability event and won several honours.
Faculty attended a month-long HEC/NAHE workshop for faculty teaching and supervising research scholars.
The Head of Department represented AUST Biochemistry at events hosted by Islamia College University, University of Buner, and NCP/COMSTECH Islamabad.
